CUSTOMISED TRIP DESIGNS

The Ganga programme is unique and should at least be 4 nights and 5 days so that it allows students to explore the activities curated for this module comfortably, with clear learning outcomes. Listed below are various components of the trip.

Rafting from Bagwan to Rishikesh (Appropriate Age - 15 years and above)

Distance: 65 kms.
Grade: 3+ (Moderate to Difficult)

Duration: 2 nights and 3 days

This is a completely self supported trip, where in all our camping gear, food etc. is carried on cargo rafts. We will be setting up camps each day, where in the participants would be required to take up responsibilities of cooking, camp maintenance, set up and performance improvement. The expedition runs through the complete stretch of The Ganges right up to Rishikesh.

This is the minimal multi-day expedition that you can possibly get in India. The expeditions focuses on developing skills of self-sustenance, team work, rafting and offers opportunity to groom attributes of leadership and self belief.

CONSERVATION CONCERN

The Ganga suffers from two problems - pollution and obstructions to free flow. Pollution, in turn, comes from two sources i.e. municipalities and industries. This affects the ecology of the river posing a grave threat to priority species such as the Gangetic river dolphin. Indiscriminate fishing and habitat fragementation by dams and barrages also negatively impact this once pristine habitat. By exploring the river, we expose students to these issues and build awareness.
